The Influence of Furniture on Love, Wysing Grange Farmhouse, Cambridgeshire
14 September 2014 - 02 November 2014
LIBRARY: The Farmhouse Library, 2014 onwards
An ever-growing library by kind donation of staff, studio artists and visiting artists
The Farmhouse Library is an ongoing project created by artists Ruth Beale and Giles Round, as part of their 2014 exhibition The Influence of Furniture on Love. It is housed on-site in the communal living room of Wysing’s 17th Century Farmhouse. Any artists who have been involved in Wysing’s programme or stayed at the Farmhouse over the last 33 years can nominate or leave behind a book.
The collection includes philosophy, poetry, novels, and non-fiction from Hannah Arendt’s The Human Condition nominated by Cally Spooner and Claudia Rankine’s Citizen: an American Lyric nominated by Evan Ivekoya to Gillian Rose’s Love's Work nominated by Ghislaine Leung. The library continues to grow as a gift and resource from our past, for future residency artists.

The answer to that must lie in a deep conviction that there is a value in what you are trying to do. In our case the conviction is political, 2014
